Completed order updates

Details of a completed order are stored both in the Digital Platform and the local cinema site. When an endpoint related to a completed order is called, in most cases, the Digital Platform will request information on the order from the local cinema site, in case any changes have been made outside of the Digital Platform. This may include refunds, seat swaps, item delivery preparation status, or order collection.

However, this update is subject to predefined cooldown periods to reduce load downstream. If the completed order has been updated recently and the cooldown period has not fully elapsed yet, the Digital Platform will not request the local cinema site for updated information. This may result in stale completed order information.

These cooldown periods depend on several factors, including whether:

  • the order includes tickets to a showtime that has not yet ended,
  • all showtimes have ended for all tickets in the order,
  • the order includes items requiring preparation,
  • the order has been cancelled or refunded.
